Henry Reitsma Obituary

Wareham-Henry R. Reitsma, 82, of Plymouth formerly of Wareham and Hyde Park, passed away on Sunday, May, 28, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of Jean M. (Russo) Reitsma also of Plymouth. Mr. Reitsma was born in Boston the son of the late William Parker and Florence (Carr) Reitsma.

He attended Boston Public Schools and North Eastern University, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for many years and retired from United Brands / Chiquita Banana. He enjoyed his family, friends, boating, fishing, playing horseshoes & cards and the Wareham Lodge of Elks Lodge # 73.

In addition to his wife Mr. Reitsma is survived by his children: Annmarie Taylor of Easton, Michael Reitsma of CA and Carolyn Reitsma of Boston. He was the brother of Shirley Stone of Plymouth, Beatrice McIntyre-Smith of Easton, Hazel Guyot of Plymouth, Jeanne Molonario of Plymouth and Judith DiLorenzo of Dedham. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Tanner, Michael Tanner, Arielle Reitsma and great grandfather of Parker Henry Tanner. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the brother in-law of Barbara Russo of Hyde Park and brother of the late William Reitsma and Pauline Dunn.

Ceremonies: Funeral from the Wareham Village Funeral home 5 Center St. Wareham on Saturday, June 3, at 8:15 am followed by his funeral Mass at 9 am, in Saint Patrick's Church , 82 High Street, Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 2, from 5-7pm at the Funeral Home.
