Benjamin Dixon Obituary

 

Wareham-Benjamin F. Dixon, 84, of Wareham, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Wareham Healthcare Center with his family at his side.  Mr. Dixon was the husband of Helen (Clark) Dixon also of Wareham. 

He was born in Tuskegee, Alabama the son of the late Luda V. and Anna (Jones) Dixon Sr.  He attended Tuskegee Public Schools and graduated from Tuskegee High School.  A  U.S.M.C. Korean War veteran, Mr. Dixon also worked for the VA Healthcare system for over 39 years in the Environmental Management, Dept. .  He enjoyed a good western movie and fishing.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children:  Kenneth Dixon and his wife Lavern of NJ, Christine Dixon of Wareham, Karen and her husband Bruce Dykes of NJ and J’Noai Dixon and his wife Tammori of NJ.  He was the grandfather of Shanice and J’Noai Dixon Jr.   He was the brother of Luda Dixon Jr. of KY and Warren Dixon and his wife Caroline of NJ.  He was the father of the late Rodney Dixon and Donald Dixon and brother of the late Donald Dixon.  He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Committal services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:45 am in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Blvd. Bourne, MA 02532.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  Please gather at the cemetery funeral cortege assembly area by 10:15 am.  

The National Cemetery will only accept 3 floral arrangements.  Please consider a memorial gift to the charity of your choice.
