Virginia L. "Ginny" Marchand

Onset- The family of Virginia L. “Ginny” Marchand, 79, of Onset sorrowfully announces her death on Saturday October 28th 2023.  She was predeceased by her husband William B.F. Lee. She passed away at home with her family at her side.  Ginny was the daughter of the late Gerald A. and Lillian (Lefebvre) Marchand.

Ginny was a graduate of Bellingham High School, Mass Bay Community College and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Healthcare devoting her last years to Hospice Services of Massachusetts.   She was a devout Catholic, and Communicant of Saint Margaret / Saint Mary’s Star of the Sea Church.  She is a Past President of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society where she devoted many hours of service up until her death.  She was also a 2017 recipient of the Marion Medal for her devotion and commitment of the laity in the work of the church.

She enjoyed; sailing, boating, kayaking, scuba diving, golfing, a motorcycle enthusiast and a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

She was the sister of Verne Roy, husband Daniel Roy of Falmouth, Gerald Marchand, wife Joan Marchand of Bellingham, Vivian Marchand of Milford and the late Valerie Bourgeois late husband, George Bourgeois of Bellingham.  She is survived by 9 loving nieces and nephews, 18 grand nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her extended families the Evans and Cuginis, and many close friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 1st from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the  Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
