West Wareham-Charles V. Goodwin, 84, of West Wareham formerly of Onset, passed away on October    14,  2023 at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich.  Charles was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Heikila) Goodwin who passed away in 2007.

Born in Bradley, Arkansas the son of the late Garland J. and Leo Bernice (Smith) Goodwin.  A carpenter, he belonged to the Boston Carpenters Union.  He worked for Sprinkle Home Improvement and owned and operated Goodwin & Sons, Construction for many years.  An outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, traveling and 60’s and 70’s country music.  U.S.A.F. veteran serving from 1956-1960

He is survived by his children: Lorie (Richard) Sleightholm of West Wareham, Teresa Goodwin of Onset and Raymond (Amy) Goodwin of Onset.  He was the brother of Glinda Morrow of Arkansas and Donald Ray Goodwin of Kansas.  He was the grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 5 and he was also survived by  many loving nieces , nephews, relatives  and friends.

He was the father of the late Wayne Goodwin and brother of the late Raymond R. Goodwin and Marzell Arnold.

A private family funeral service with full military honors was held on Thursday October 19, in the Wareham Village Funeral Home. Mr. Goodwin was interred next to his wife Barbara in the Goodwin family lot in Centre Cemetery, Wareham.  The Goodwin family will have a Celebration of his life at a later date to be announced.  www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com
